  • First of Jones & Shipman’s next generation CNC cylindrical grinders goes to leading French precision component manufacturer

    The first order for a new UltraGrind CNC cylindrical grinding machine from Jones & Shipman has been despatched to its new owner, a leading precision component manufacturer based in France. The machine features a brand new modular wheelhead design and multiple wheel spindles, allowing the high precision mould and mechanical component manufacturer to perform both internal and external grinding operations to extremely fine tolerances, in one grinding cycle. Overall, the UltraGrind will provide huge reductions in set-up time and machining costs.

  • More power and flexibility from new J&S CNC grinder

    The next generation UltraGrind CNC cylindrical grinding machine has just been launched by Jones & Shipman at CIMT-09 (Beijing China). The new machine featuring a brand new modular wheelhead design not only offers multiple wheel spindles configured to suit customer requirements, but also provides more power, more accuracy and increased component weight handling. There is also a high degree of modularity in the way the machine can be configured from build, allowing customer specific machines to be manufactured quickly and easily.

  • Jones & Shipman Suprema 650 cylindrical grinder improves sub-contractor competitiveness with up to 50% cycle time savings

    Central Grinding Services in Leicester have significantly improved their competitiveness since recently installing a Jones & Shipman Suprema 650 ‘Easy’ cylindrical grinder. Cycle times on ID/OD work have in some instances been reduced by up to 50% and due to the machines ‘Easy’ self-teach software and quick and easy set up times, smaller batches of work can now be handled profitably. The same ‘Easy’ software also solved a skills shortage, as the automated cycle of the Suprema enables unskilled staff to run the machine, once it is set.
